Somalia: Ahlu Sunna Forces Detain Suspected Men in Central Region

The security forces of Ahlu Sunna Wlajama'a clerics in Guriel district in Galgudud region have detained two suspected of committing explosions in parts of the region, officials said on Monday.

Mohamed Shidane Diriye, a security chief of Ahlu Suna clerics in Guriel said that the two men were captured by the Islamist fighters as they were suspected of planning to create violence in Guri El town in central Somalia.

He added that the two suspects were detained as their forces conducted operations in Guriel district saying that the detainees were carrying hand grenades.

The official also said that the clerics' forces were still continuing operations aimed at verifying the security of the town vowing they the detainees would be brought before a Islamic court for the following hours.
