The R. Kelly "I believe" concert with Zain has sucked in Ugandan local artistes Chameleone and Bebe Cool as they try to impress Ugandan audiences to vote for them to share the same stage come January 29, 2010 at the Lugogo Indoor stadium.

In an effort to garner interest in the concert, Zain Uganda decided that the audience should vote at least five artistes from a pool of twelve to choose who should perform along the international superstar. Currently, Chameleone and Bebe Cool are running neck and neck according to an audit firm that is charged with the tallying of the voters' verdict. And the duo has taken the vote search to various towns in and around Kampala city to ask their fans to vote them.

Trailing behind Chameleone and Bebe Cool are Mowsey and Weasel who sang songs chiding Bebe Cool and Chameleone as spent forces, which songs have catapulted them in the limelight.

According to Fred Masadde, the External Relations Manager at Zain Uganda, 'the vote to perform with R. Kelly' is set to heighten competition amongst the local artistes by setting one against the other as a popularity contest which would help in determining who should perform on the same stage with the legend.

"Five local musicians will have an opportunity of a lifetime to perform with R. Kelly. We didn't want to choose who, that is why we gave that right to our customers. On top of that, our participating customers will be winning $500 per day until the concert as they choose which local star will perform with R. Kelly," Masadde said.

The mini shows have been arranged by Zain Uganda for the artistes to solicit support from their fans around the country and so far, Chameleone has performed in Entebbe near the international gateway while Bebe Cool took his vote search in Mukono 30Km east of Kampala. Mowsey and Radio last week performed in Bwaise and Wandegeya which are some of the most populated suburbs of Kampala.

According to Caesar Mloka, the musicians are performing in open places for the fans for free as a means of raising the adrenaline for the R. Kelly "I believe' concert. The performances are also another avenue for fans to subscribe to Zain telecom services and stand a chance to win instant prizes.
