Warri — THE Federal Government has been charged not to renege on its commitment to rapidly develop the Niger Delta, especially now that the struggle has shifted from armed violence to ideological agitation.

National President of Ijaw National Congress (IYC), Comrade Ekanpour Enewaridideke, made this remark in a statement.

He described High Chief, Government Ekpemukpolo, alias Tompolo, as an activist fighting for the total emancipation of his people.

Comrade Enewaridideke said nobody should hence-forth address Tompolo as ex-militant because he was consistent in his fight against exploitation and oppression.

He said: " With the ideological shift, the government and the public should now address Chief Government Ekpemukpolo as a venerable freedom activist in the class of late Isaac Boro."

He commended Tompolo for his transparent and well regulated emancipation struggle.
