Uganda: Barclays Helps Mothers

Kampala — Barclays Bank partnered with Virika Hospital to sponsor nutrition education among pregnant women who are HIV-positive.

Arnold Katabi, the coordinator of the Fort Portal branch, disclosed that the bank decided to sponsor the education after learning that most HIV-positive expectant mothers struggled with poor nutrition. Katabi was addressing hospital staff and patients at the HIV clinic on Tuesday.

He said they aimed at prolonging the lives of the mothers and help them deliver HIV-free children.
