After winning the toss, Tanzania went to bat first to set a target of 64 runs for 6 wickets in allotted 30 overs.
Saguti registered 13 runs and was the highest scorer for Tanzania. In reply to Tanzania, the Kenyan ladies failed to chase, as they ended their innings with 47 all out n 29.1 overs.
It was a second consecutive victory for the home ladies. They launched their campaign in the tournament with 2 wickets victory over Zambia at the same venue yesterday.
Tanzania now need to win against Uganda tomorrow to put themselves in the pole position to win the title.
Uganda ladies beat Rwanda by 8 wickets in the second match today. Rwanda were all out with 39 runs and Uganda chased excellently, posting 40 for 1 in just 7 overs.
The Uganda ladies won their first match against Kenya by 'Dark Worth Lewis' (DL) method on Sunday which is used when the match is canceled due to darkness.
Uganda were supposed to chase Kenya's target of 82 for 7 in 30 overs, but dark fell in as Uganda managed 78 for 7 with four overs to go, but the game was to be called off.
"We had to make calculations basing of 'Dark Worth Lewis' method, meaning that Uganda just needed to be above 67 to be the match winners," Coordinator of the tournament Kazim Nasser said.
The tournament continues today when Kenya and Rwanda face off tomorrow morning, before Uganda and Zambia lock horns in the afternoon.
