Nairobi — The delay in the rehabilitation of a key market in Meru has been blamed on government's failure to release Sh150 million.
Treasurer David Kaguri told a council meeting that tenders for the reconstruction of Gakoromone open air market had been awarded but the money was yet to be received.
The market is the largest in the Meru region but operations usually stall when it rains.
