Somalia: TFG Warns Somali Livestock Businessmen to Avoid Anything Against Exporting

Mogadishu — Abukar Abdi Osman, the minister of the development of livestock of Somali Transitional government held press conference in Mogadishu on Tuesday and warned Somali livestock businessmen to avoid anything that could disrupt to export.

The minister talked more on the announcement of the Saudi Arabia recently which allowed Somalis to export their animals saying that it was a step reached as Somali officials negotiated with Saudi, Bahrain and Qatar leaders to lift the ban on Somali livestock and to export to their countries.

He called for Somali livestock businessmen to investigate the health of domestic animals before they export to abroad not to be banned on the Somali livestock once again.

The minister of livestock development of the transitional government Mr. Osman told reporters that about 500,000 domestic animals were exported to Saudi Arabia adding that there was a plan of exporting more livestock from Somali harbors.

However the case the statement of the TFG minister for the development of the livestock comes after Saudi Arabia allowed Somalis to export their livestock after negotiations made by Somali president Sharif Sheikh Axmed with the king Abdalla Bin Abdal Aziz of Saudi kingdom.
