Zimbabwe: Sanctions Affecting Indigenous Farmers

Harare — The illegal sanctions imposed on the country by Western countries have affected indigenous farmers' access to foreign markets for their produce, the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Agriculture, Water, Lands and Resettlement heard yesterday.

Giving oral evidence before the committee, farmers' representative organisations said the embargo had prejudiced the country of the much needed foreign currency.
