General Overseer of The Lord's Chosen Charismatic Revival Church, Pastor Lazarus Muoka has said no nation could record any meaningful development without God.
He called on Nigerians to urgently turn to God with all their hearts, saying that the progress of the country hinges on righteousness and willingness of the citizens to return to God, stressing that various governments' efforts to encourage positive behaviour of the citizens could be effective when righteousness is entrenched in the country.
Muoka also said some leaders that came to power through fraudulent means who are preaching good conduct to the citizens are hypocrites, noting that a bad tree cannot bear a good fruit.
The cleric told Daily Champion during the closing ceremony of this year's international crusade of his ministry in Lagos last Sunday that without righteousness, corruption would be on the increase in the country.
"Without righteousness, crime will continue to increase, without righteousness, state of security will worsen. You cannot have a good government without righteousness. Let our nation return to God in all sincerity and the future of our country will be bright," he said.
According to him, all the slogans like 'make the nation good' would be impossible, if those at the helm of affairs were not grounded in the truth.
"You cannot make a place good if you are not good or when you are enthroned by Satan. For instance, if you belong to a cult group or you visit witch doctors to acquire power or you bribe your way to a position, having been raised up through ungodly ways, and suddenly you want to bring about good things, it is not possible.
Before you can do a good thing, you must be established in righteousness, the Bible says that in righteousness shall you be established. When you are enthroned in righteousness by the God of righteousness, then, good things will come out of you," he said.
Muoka who attributed the growth of his ministry to the presence of God, said God has always met the need of the people under his ministration, adding that through the ministry that people who were afflicted by diseases of various kinds have received their healings while hardened criminals had also received new births.
According to him, there was evidence in the lives of people about the power of the Lord of Chosen who has made people who were hitherto poor rich.
The two -day event entitled 'That yoke must break' attracted a great multitude of worshippers. There were outstanding manifestations of God's power during the event as many participants testified that they had received one favour or the other from God during the programme.
