Consternation hit fans of Hayford Nuako-Manu and his fellow Ghanaian team mate Raphael Ocloo, when Master of Ceremonies, Eddy "Executioner" Blay announced the end of the road for the duo.
It was an evening that many people did not expect the two team mates to exit, and those who had the greatest shock were the fans of Ocloo, having crowned his effort with two resplendent goals in the 4-1 routing of Nigeria by Ghana.
Luck came the way of Celestine Chicozie Ehirim as he assumed the captaincy role, taking over from Daniel Opare and making him he first team mate to assume the post for the second time.
Before last Sunday's eviction, the competition's connoisseurs had tipped Ocloo for the final showdown. But unlike previous eviction shows that saw evictees bowing out in tears, the two walked out gallantly and promised in a post-eviction press conference at the Academy house yesterday, to bounce back in style in their respective careers.
The two in separate responses thanked the organizers of the competition, Optimum Media Prime (OMP), the coaches -Ibrahim Sunday, Mohammed Polo and Dan Owusu for the platform and the imparting of tactical and technical knowhow.
The evictees left the house with trophies, special cash prizes and souvenirs from the sponsors. So far, Samuel Chibyzor, Williams Caygu, Madukadzi Godwilson, Philip Adu Poku and the latest Hayford and Ocloo have hit the end of the road.
And the question on the lips of the competition's fans are who among the remaining seven - comprising Arago Jamal, Raphael Okaraofor, Ineh Ipoh, Celestine, Anderson Obadan, Hillary Okonkwo and Frank Antwi - would drive home the Hyundai Tucson 4x4 car.
