Total Gambia Limited, Subsidiary of Total France, on Saturday, November 21st held a dayÂ's traning session for its staff in the conference hall of the Senegambia Beach Hotel located in Kololi.
Total is the worldÂ's 5th largest oil and gas company. The company currently occupies a dominant position in Africa with down stream operations in over 60 countries throughout the world. The Total oil company is also a major player in AfricaÂ's upstream activity of exploration and production of oil and gas.
The 21st November 2009 training otherwise called by staff membersÂ' summit, is the first of its kind in the country. It accorded the staff and senior management team of the oil company an opportunity to discuss and brainstorm on topical and burning issues affecting the effective and efficient running of the company.
Papers on different topics were presented by different personalities on operations of Total oil company in The Gambia . Issues such as health safety, quality and environment, financial results, marketing performance and challenges and human resource management were effectively dealt on in course of the training.
Mr Jones Ayi, managing director of Total The Gambia Limited, speaking at the beginning of the training observed that the programme aimed among other things to review the business operations of the company in The Gambia and revealed his new managementÂ's commitment towards achieving the objectives of their various activities in the country.
The oil companyÂ's boss further revealed what he described as the companyÂ's comprehensive products with reference to its range of lubricants, which was made possible due to an extensive technological research conducted by the Total group. He added that the company has confidence in the Gambian economy before unveiling his companyÂ's vision 2012 to the staff audience. The director spoke extensively about the numerous comprehensive products and services offered by the Total Gambia Limited.
