Gambia Project Donates to Bubs

The Gambia Project, a charitable organisation in Spain, last Tuesday donated school items to Bakau Upper Basic School at a ceremony held at the school ground in Bakau New Town.

The donated items included: chairs, desks, chalk, printers, amongst others. Speaking at the ceremony, Anta Sanneh, principal of the school, said the donors came to know them through one of their students two years ago and that since then the friends have been very helpful to them.

She then remembered that on their visit to the school, they brought along lots of school materials but that this time they had first ask about all that was needed. According to her, the pupils are very grateful with the gift and to their friends for the gesture. For her part, Sam Brown, a member of the Gambia Project, revealed that there is a big electronic shop in Spain called Snac which gives out presents at Christmas.

Further revealing how they amass the resources for help, Ms Brown said they have about twenty people in Spain who are helping them, and that some friends also gave them some money to help them put their logo on the calendar which they designed and sole to people.
