Nigeria: I Am Ready for Probe - Ndanusa

Abuja — Sports Minister/ Chairman National Sports Commission, Sani Ndanusa said yesterday that he is ready to offer himself for probe for the action during the just ended FIFA U-17 World Cup.

Speaking at a meeting held with National Presidents of all the Sports Federations on Tuesday.

The Minister who doubles as the Chairman of National Sports Commission said his action at the championship was aimed at ensuring that the country is properly show cased to the whole world during the Championship. "I know I may have stepped on various toes during the championship, but now that the event is over, and Nigeria's name has been properly placed in the world map, people talk well of the country, as the country has now become a tourist attraction.".

He apologized to all those he must have offended during the period, while signifying intention to answer all queries from the championship.

Meanwhile, Sports development is a collective responsibility, and the National Sports Federations are the bedrock for its actualisation. According to the Chairman of the National Sports Commission Alhaji Sani Ndanusa, this is in line with the determination to ensure a sustainable development for sports from the grassroots.

"In collaboration with the relevant agencies we designed a comprehensive model for the establishment of Sports Development Centres in all the communities of the country".

He said the project is fashioned after similar projects. The Minister, who spoke at the meeting with National Sports Federations in Abuja, said the desire to hold the meeting was born out of the conviction that sports can take a greater height with collective efforts.
