Nigeria: VP Seeks Cooperation to Fight Trafficking

Vice president Goodluck Jonathan has called for international cooperation and support against the trafficking in persons in the country.

Goodluck who made the call in his address at the first public lecture and awards ceremony in commemoration of the 2009 National Anti-Human Trafficking week organized by the National Agency for the Prohibition of the Traffic in Persons and (NAPTIP) said this has become necessary as the country cannot do it alone.

He urged governments of most destination countries of the traffickers and their victims to collaborate with Nigeria in its anti Human trafficking efforts adding that the federal government is ever ready to support the agency in all its activities.
