Nigeria: NIMASA Update Judges Knowledge On Admiralty Laws

THE Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) yesterday commenced the South West version of first admiralty seminar for judges with a view to updating the knowledge of the Nigerian judges on admiralty matters.

NIMASA's Director General Mr Temi Omatseye said that capacity building is one key strategy for stakeholders to have a good understanding of the maritime industry.

He also said the agency has decided to partner with other stakeholders so as to reduce disputes in this very important sector. Omatseye explained that it is better to narrow on key pillars of of its regulatory and promotional powers

"On assumption of office, I set out with capacity as one of the fundamental areas of where the Agency will concentrate its effort."
