Harare — A party here and a party there, is the festive mood in the capital as pubs and clubs go into overdrive lining up shows for the Christmas holiday.
And to go with the festivity, Jazz 105 celebrates the arrival of the World Cup trophy to Zimbabwe with an all-white party that features Suluman Chimbetu alongside JM Seasons Band.
Both are high-riding and command a huge following whenever they perform but the spark does not end there as for the first time the bands would be dressed in all white, the theme colour for the show.
Suluman is enjoying a time of his life riding on the popularity of his late father Simon.
His delivery on stage is good and his performances get better with each outing.
His presence at the show brings a lot of sweet memories as it was at Jazz 105 where he launched his career as a sought-after performer after having played in the peripheries of the capital.
He is also credited for breaking the rules at the once jazz only club by staging Dendera in the house.
So far, Jazz 105 has become his favourite joint although he likes to take his act elsewhere around the capital to reach out to his multitudes of fans.
Reverse Deal is his latest release, but Sulu as he is affectionately known, surely would not want to reverse his agreement with the joint as he has a lot to show and prove to his followers.
Another hot favourite on the bill is JM Seasons Band fronted by the quiet and unassuming vocalist J Masters.
Basking in the glory of their latest album titled Mashabini, which is a collector's piece by all standards, the group is sure to provide music for the mind and soul.
There is not one group that plays music the way JM Seasons does.
It is a group that loves singing real life stories and for that reason it has endeared itself to the mature crowds. Perhaps fans are in for a treat as the group has promised to sample tracks from the album that include Admire, Budapachena, Mai naBaba, Munondivenge-reyiko and Robie to mention just a few.
Host of the show, Josh Hozheri of Jazz 105, has promised music fans a jolly good weekend as the venue will be painted in all white.
"Let's get this straight, this is strictly an all white party.
"We want to see more white than the word itself. So from the bands, staff to the patrons they would be all dressed in white.
"Perhaps you might want to know why we chose white colour.
"Firstly, the colour resembles peace, we want peace to prevail and secondly, it also relates to happiness and happiness is all we have for the World and our patrons," Hozheri said.
The all-white party has become an annual event and permanent feature on Jazz 105's calendar where music fans dress up in anything that is white.
Last year's party was held amid pomp and funfare and this year's edition appears to bring more happiness than sorrow coming as it does during the month end weekend when most people have extra cash to spend.
