Liberia: President Sirleaf, Attending Funeral of Keith Jubah, PPCC Chairman, Vows His Murderers Will Not Go Unpunished

Funeral services over the remains of the former Chairman of the Public Procurement & Concessions Commission (PPCC) have taken place at the Providence Baptist Church in Monrovia, with President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf describing the late Keith Jubah as faithful, diligent, and committed - a man devoted to the nation, to his institution, to his family, and to the Almighty God.

The late PPCC Chairman lost his life as a consequence of a heinous murder at his residence on Morris Farm in Kakata, Margibi County, on November 1, 2009.

President Sirleaf said she remembered Jubah as a motivating, intelligent young man behind the upliftment of the quality of life of people working in the rubber industry.

The late Honorable Jubah, the Liberian leader said, contributed to the success of the Morris American Rubber Company (MARCO), of which he was President and General Manager.

After obtaining a Master of Science degree from Pittsburg University in the United States, Mr. Jubah returned home and worked at the Firestone Rubber Plantation. After a brief stay in the U.S. during the war, Jubah returned to Liberia and established the Morris American Rubber Company.

An Executive Manson release says President Sirleaf has assured the family that those who committed the brutal murder will never go free. The President also called on the bereaved family to have solace in the Lord, and to pray that Jubah's soul may rest in peace.

As a mark of last respect and tribute to the late Hon. Keith Jubah, it was ordered that, on the day of his internment, on Friday, November 27th, the National Ensign of the Republic of Liberia be flown at half-staff from all public buildings in Bong County, Republic of Liberia. The remains of the late PPCC Chairman will be laid to rest in Sannoyea District, Lower Bong County.

The funeral service was held at the Providence Baptist Church in the presence of President Sirleaf, the Jubah family, an array of Government and Unity Party dignitaries, and many sympathizers.
