Nigeria: NFF Executive Committee Hails President Yar'Adua

Abuja — The Executive Committee of the Nigeria Football Federation hailed the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for his effort and support in ensuring the Super Eagles' qualify for the 2010 FIFA World Cup to be staged in the Republic of South Africa.

This was done after their executive committee meeting at the NFF Secretariat, Federal Capital Territory, Abuja on Wednesday, 25th November, 2009 where they discussed pertinent issues in Nigeria football

According to a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting signed by Shehu Adamu, Chairman Communique Drafting Committee, they also are impressed with the excellent organization of the FIFA U-17 World Cup Nigeria 2009, praising the LOC for a good job as well as the commitment of the eight Sub -seats and above all the sterling performance of the Nigeria U-17 team, Golden Eaglets which finished as runners-up.

The NFF Executive Committee said the Super Eagles' players and Members of technical crew did well by doing Nigeria proud with the World Cup ticket. The Committee also unanimously adopted the position of its technical sub -committee and the Coaches Association of Nigeria, which on Tuesday, 24th November, 2009 recommended that Members of the Super Eagles' technical crew be kept in their post for the African Nations Cup Angola 2010 and FIFA World Cup South Africa 2010.

The Committee also approved plans for an Extra-Ordinary General Assembly of the Nigeria Football Federation to hold before the end of this year approved the recommendations of world governing body, FIFA for amendments in its Statutes for drafting of the Electoral Code, for elections that will take place next year.
