Western Union, on Monday, held its Tobaski raffle draw at the premises of its main agent in The Gambia, Trust Bank Ltd, Banjul branch.
The draw saw the emergence of 436 winners each expected to receive a ram. Speaking to the Daily Observer, Lamin Marena, the Marketing agent of Western Union, The Gambia, said that four months before the Tobaski they have been running radio programmes and adverts about this draw for their customers. He said Western Union is in partnership with nine banks in the country; namely Trust Bank, GTU, Eco-Bank, Bank PHB, FIB, Access Bank, Standard Chartered Bank, Reliance Financial Services and Skye Bank.
According to him, they have been doing this type of draws for a long time now an example of which is the back to school draw, in which they gave out lots of prices to their customers. Marena said what the customers need to do is to receive or send money from Western Union and they will get a coupon that will enable them to be part of the Tobaski draw. He noted that with luck, 436 customers got themselves a ram each and they will receive it on Wednesday 25th November 2009, at the Kairaba Beach Hotel Jamma Hall. He finally revealed that there is much more on the way, and advised the customers to keep sending and recieving money through Western Union to get themselves lots of surprise gifts.
