Nigeria: Juth to Relocate Specialised Clinics to Permanent Site

Jos — Some specialized clinics at the Jos University Teaching Hospital (JUHT) will from December 1st 2009 be moved from the temporary site of the hospital along Murtala Muhammed Way to its permanent site at Lamingo area in Jos, a statement by the Chief Public Relations Officer of the hospital Mrs. Ngozi Okpara said.

The specialized clinics to be moved according to the statement ,include the Medical Out Patient Department (MOPD), Surgical Out Patient Department (SOPD), Eye and Psychiatric Clinics as well as the Orthopaedic Clinic.

The statement however stated that the Obstetrics and Gynaecology (O&G) as well as the Paediatric Clinic will for the mean time operate at the temporary site of the hospital.

Mrs. Okpara further explained that the relocation was to expose patients to the state of the art equipment which are in conformity with international standard adding that the relocation exercise "will not in any way affect the quality services being rendered by the institution, as it is very much committed to efficient health care delivery."
