A block of 12 bedroom flats worth about 80 million naira and a road of about 3 kilometers have been commissioned by the Minister of Defence , Major General Godwin Abbe (rtd) were commissioned at the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) yesterday in Abuja.
Speaking at the commissioning, the Minister of Defence called for proper maintenance of the facilities by personnel of the NAF.He said that the NAF being an efficient fighting force and an integral service of the nation's armed forces they should always be always step up effort in training and retraining of their personnel as well as better welfare.
He said that the present administration is poised in making the Nigerian Armed Forces one of the best in the continent and the world at large.He acknowledged the problems of accommodation in the Armed Forces which he said will always be addressed by the present administration.
Speaking earlier, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Chief Marshal Oluseyi Petinrin, in a remark said that the NAF named the street after the present Minister of Defence because of his commitment to the development of the nation.
He said that the NAF will continue to key into the visions and missions of the present administration as it will remain totally committed to the aspirations of the president.
