Gambia: Tailors, Textile Dealers Speak - As Tobaski Approaches

Tailors and textile dealers, have expressed optimism of having much profit in their respective business, as preparation for the Muslim feast of Eid-ul-Adha commonly called Tobaski intensifies.

Speaking to the Daily Observer Ismaila Jammeh a textile dealer at Jobekunda shop in Serekunda market said that, the period of Tobaski is a busy time for them and because of that they do shell till late hours, he said it is a profitable time for them because they shall a lot of their products especially for them who are well recommended by many people in the country.

Jammeh said it is a bit hard for by this time because, there are some customers who are very hard to deal with but there are some of them to whom you can deal with very easily, he added that this type of occasions are very profitable and benefiting because they are on lots of sales, but also at the end of the day they get so exulted, he said they do shell up to the day of Tobaski and sometime even the day after because many people do not have the chance to buy what they need before the occasion, he concluded.

Also speaking was Dam Gaye a tailor in Â"Bakh Yaya tailoringÂ" at the Serekunda market who have said that, Tobaski is a very busy time for them because after the people got there textile materials from the textile shops they are the next people to got it and complete the work, that is the showing of the material which takes a bit time and many people will come very late for their materials to be showed, and these is always their problem because they can neither reject it not to talk of not showing it because most of these people are their longtime customer and in these kind of situations it is always a problem for them and can sometimes lead to the lost of many of their good customers which they do not like. Gaye said that in the said of profit they do gain a lot during this time because they always have a lot to show, he concluded.
