One of Liberia's promising female athletic stars, Abertha Williams has signed a 3-month pact with the River Cess Sport Association to run for their county track and field team in the 2009/2010 national county meet.
Athlete Williams, who ran for River Gee County in the 2008 National County Meet and won gold medal, sealed the deal last Saturday and has already started training with River Cess athletic team at the Samuel K. Doe Sports Complex in Paynesville.
The promising Liberian athletic sprinter, who is already known on the international scene, expressed confidence that she can do the damage for the blue and white outfit come December 6, official opening date for the National County sports competition.
Meanwhile, Williams has informed sports reporters that she is searching for opportunities to compete more on the international scene.
Abertha Williams: "I think I need more chances now to compete with other athletes on the continent if my dream is to come through in this discipline".
"Though I'm doing well locally but I still believe that I need more outside strength in order to rise in my career," she noted.
