Liberia Basketball Federation champions NPA 'deadly' Pythons arrived Wednesday in Cotonou, Benin for the weeklong AFIBA competition, NPA Sports Association President Sacku Kanneh affirmed shortly after arrival.
Mr. Kanneh, who is part of the team's 20-member delegation, told New Democrat Sports that were well received by organizers of the AFIBA competition that opens Friday.
Mr. Kanneh said his club had no knowledge yet as to which country team they will play in the opening match since the fixture was not yet released to him immediately upon arrival.
The game in the West African country is the preliminary round of AFIBA Championship competition that will set the stage for the grouping.
This is NPA Pythons' second participation in this crucial competition and many fans wish players in the green and white outfit to make a significant impact this time around.
Sports officials put expenses including per diem covering the trip at US$30,000.
