at their party headquarters Sunday afternoon but the party could soon be over for them as fears rise that the opposition party RDP is doing much  better than expected.

Unconfirmed reports reaching AEP indicate that SWAPO has polled badly in Katima and does not seem to be holding on its fort well in other regions. This has led to suggestions that the ruling party might call for an emergency cabinet meeting later today.

Meanwhile, the announcement of results has stopped on national broadcater, NBC. It is still not clear whether there are any correlations between SWAPO concerns and the discontinuation of announcements.

In other news, as vote counting continues in Namibia, with a number of polling stations releasing the poll results as required by law, it has emerged that certain polling stations are not doing the same.

AEP is currently going around a number of polling stations in the capital Windhoek to verify the truth of these claims.

By law, once polling stations finish counting, thet are required to post the results in a visible area where the public can access them.

In separate developments, news coming in from other regions such as Ohangwena suggests that some people have already stated celebrating victory long ahead the results being declared. A Sunday afternoon report on the Namibia Broadcasting Corporation (NBC TV) told of how jubilation had marked the closure of polls in the region Saturday night.
