Zambia: Radio Maria Plans to Increase Coverage

RADIO Maria-Zambia President, Martin Mwitumwa has said plans are underway to mount more transmitters in some districts in order to enhance the radio coverage to the entire Eastern Province.

Currently, Radio Maria covers Chipata, Katete, Chadiza, Mambwe and parts of Petauke District.

In an interview in Chipata yesterday, Mr Mwitumwa said the station was still scouting for money to mount transmitters in Lundazi, Petauke and Nyimba in an effort to increase the radio coverage in the province.

He did not disclosed how much was needed for mounting of the transmitters.

So far, the station has come up with various fundraising ventures to source for resources urgently.

"Our plans, are to hold a fund raising day on December 12. We want to source for funds to mount transmitters to enable our radio station reach the entire Eastern Province," Mr Mwitumwa said.

He said if the entire province was been covered, the focus would for the station by next year to reach Lusaka to enable people pick up the evangelisation being spread on the radio.
