Nigeria: Unity Bank Deploys Banking Technology Solutions to Fair

Unity Bank Plc has deployed full banking technology at the on-going 30th Kano Trade Fair which is expected to end tomorrow, a statement from the bank said.

The bank's Head of Corporate Communications, Mr. Crispin Oduobuk, gave an overview of the bank's participation at the Lagos Trade Fair as well as what awaits existing and prospective customers who visit the bank's stand.

He said: "Our pavilion at the Kano Trade Fair comes with full banking technology infrastructure, including an ATM machine that was operational from Day One. We have our operations and marketing staff on hand to attend to customers, whatever their requests or enquiries may be.

"Customers who visit our pavilion at the Kano Trade Fair ground can make deposits or withdrawals on the spot, and with the same ease that they are used to at our regular branches. They can also open new bank accounts, right there at the trade fair ground."

He said UnityBank considers trade fairs to be good platforms to interact directly with both existing customers and thousands of un-banked Nigerians. It said that this is in line with its strategy to be the preferred retail bank in Nigeria. The bank said that is why it participates prominently in the major trade fairs that hold annually in the country.

"We are also using the fair to showcase our special products such as Unity BeTA, designed to empower micro and small businesses; Unity PAYS, a consumer finance product which provides a window for customers to buy valuable assets such as cars generating sets, business machines and office equipment, etc, with ease and flexible payment; Unity Holy Trip, a savings product designed to help Nigerians to fund their religious pilgrimages whether to Saudi Arabia or to Jerusalem, and Unity Web School, targeted at tertiary educational institutions.
