Uganda: Street Parking Should Be Banned - Experts

Kampala — PLANNERS under the Uganda Institute of Physical Planners (UIPP) want street parking banned on busy city roads, saying it is the cause of traffic jams.

The call was made on Thursday at a public dialogue organised by UIPP as part of the activities to mark the World Planning Day. The theme for the day was "Traffic Jam: Which way forward for Kampala."

Isaac Wanasolo, a physical planner, said there was need to relocate the street parking on Kampala's busy roads to ease the flow of traffic. He advised Multiplex Limited, the managers of city street parking, to invest in parking lots.
