Namibia: Air Namibia Spreads Its Wings Further

Windhoek — The national airline, Air Namibia, has spread its wings by expanding its flights to Accra, Ghana via Johannesburg. This comes after it launched a flight to Lusaka last month.

In accordance with the recently granted 5th freedom traffic rights by the governments of South Africa and Ghana, the airline now operates five flights per week with traffic rights to uplift passengers, baggage, cargo and air mail between Johannesburg and Accra.

"This will make Air Namibia the only airline operating direct and "non stop" flights between Accra and Johannesburg, offering a flight which takes roughly six hours," said Hellena Kapiya-Nathinge, Corporate Communications & Marketing Officer at the airline.

Air Namibia will undertake flights from Windhoek to Johannesburg and then Accra on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, while return flights from Accra will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Air Namibia has been making use of the route since 20 November.
