Harare — THERE is no justification at all to call for evil, ruinous and illegal sanctions against a people who have chosen to own what rightfully belongs to them, a people who have chosen to recover what was stolen from them. There is no justification in punishing a people for refusing to land Tsvangirai and his MDC T a job they were/are not qualified for and do not deserve. A job where one has to work for the people and not against the people. The economic sanctions brought destruction and not democracy. The effects of the sanctions were felt by every household, every sector of the industry, and social services and departments, writes CAD MASH from the United Kingdom.
US President Barack Obama said this in a speech just after winning the elections: "If there is anyone there who doubts our democracy, today is your answer." That was a defining moment for US politics.
In Zimbabwe today the words are "If there is any Zimbabwean out there who has been doubting the source of their suffering, here is your answer: "Kuti tizodaidza masanctions iwayo makambenge maita sei?" (What had you done when we called for the imposition of economic sanctions?)
MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai, who is also Prime Minister, had the guts to ask economically battered Zimbabweans such a question at his party's 10th anniversary celebrations at Zimbabwe Grounds in Highfield on Sunday.
A party that brought with it a miserable decade and shattered the hopes, aspirations and lives of many a people.
Tsvangirai and his MDC-T can best answer that question, because there is no justification at all to call for evil, ruinous and illegal sanctions against a people who have chosen to own what rightfully belongs to them, a people who have chosen to recover what was stolen from them.
There is no justification in punishing a people for refusing to land Tsvangirai and his MDC T a job they were/are not qualified for and do not deserve. A job where one has to work for the people and not against the people.
The economic sanctions brought destruction and not democracy. The effects of the sanctions were felt by every household, every sector of the industry, and social services and departments.
What had victims of cholera done? What did Zimbabwe Cricket do? Innocent schoolchildren who had their education disrupted, their exams not marked, companies forced to close, scale down and dismiss/cut workforce as a result of the MDC-T sanctions at work?
The same sanctions, Tsvangirai is today bragging about posing offending and malicious questions. I have never thanked Prime minister Tsvangirai and his MDC-T ever since they engaged in what they call opposition political activities, which in truth and fact are/were acts of sabotage, treason, terrorism and genocide, as well as violations of people's rights -- a right not to be punished for doing no wrong.
Today for the first time I thank Honourable Prime Minister Tsvangirai for putting the record straight on sanctions, for the confession in which we hope remorse should follow, for trying to correct the misinformation they have been spreading to their gullible supporters all these years, though I am still very angry. But that is not enough, very far from it, I hope it is the beginning of positive steps.
My sincere gratitude and honour goes to former South African president Thabo Mbeki for brokering a deal that gave birth to the inclusive Government against all odds and at a cost difficult to sum up. For the strength of his character, his wisdom and principles, otherwise this baby called inclusive Government was never going to be conceived in the first place, or would have been aborted during pregnancy, had the anti quiet diplomacy lobby had their way.
We expect those former opposition/rebels now in Government to behave, work for the people and not against them, inform and not misinform the people.
Withholding or refusing to extend urgently required funding for agricultural inputs is a disservice to the people, and not expected from a Government minister who should be serving the people. Minister Tendai Biti should get the message, that money is not his personal savings or donations, he is holding it in trust for the people.
It belongs to the people and it should serve them, locking it up elsewhere will not bring a bumper harvest to the people of Mazowe or Lupane.

Cde Cad Mash;
"Today for the first time I thank Honourable Prime Minister Tsvangirai for putting the record straight on sanctions, for the confession in which we hope remorse should follow, for trying to correct the misinformation they have been spreading to their gullible supporters all these years, though I am still very angry".
Yes that is correct Cde Mash but as for me I will never thank this idiotic bustard until he apologizes to the people of Zimbabwe for the suffering they went through for 10 years while he and his fellow sellouts denied the existence of sanctions.
In this so-called "confession" the stupid idiot is actually bragging about calling for sanctions against the people of Zimbabwe. Not so long ago he refused to call the sanctions by their real name preferring to refer to them as "restrictive Measure" and insisting that they are only targeted at the Zanu-pf inner-circle. But don't we know better that these sanctions are not targeted neither are they selective but are affecting everybody and anybody staying in Zimbabwe.
Elsewhere on here, his fellow sellout, Giles Mutsekwa, is calling for "the removal of illegal sanctions as their continued existence is affecting the ZRP's ability to diligently discharge its mandate". He is only seeing that the sanctions they called for are barbaric, ruinous, evil and racist but do not want to go further as to apologize to the people who have suffered under these satanic sanctions while they denied their existence.
I will NEVER forgive MDC-T people unless and until they publicly, just as Tsvangirai publicly called for the "cutting of electricity, transport and trade links" while in South Africa, apologize to the whole nation of Zimbabwe.
There are two issues that need addressing, that is, the existence of sanctions on Zimbabwe and its people and the actual calling or campaigning for sanctions by MDC-T officials. When these two issues have adequately been addressed we can then go further to talking about apology to the people of DZIMBAHWE.
MDC sellouts should acknowledge in-no-uncertainty terms that sanctions have and are killing our people who have nothing to do with the fight for power. They should further say it clearly that they are the ones who campaigned for these sanctions and were responsible for the lies they paddled against Zanu-pf whereupon they falsely alleged that the supporters they send to UK were being persecuted by their own brothers and sisters in Zanu-pf. This lie should be corrected so that everybody knows the truth about the reasons for these people running away to South Africa, Australia, USA, New Zealand and Britain.
This shows the high level of stupidity some of you Zims harbour in your empty skulls. How on earth can the editorial of a news paper write such stupid comments on it's Prime minister? Shame on you!!!!! I'm happy that God didn't put me in such an abyss as the writer of this editorial. This show the lack of respect you have for your leaders and you go about canvassing for the lifting of sanctions against your countries. I thought with your claim of infallability you could run your nation without assistance from anywhere. Even super economies still seek help. Some half educated Zims are so myopic in seeing the reality that the heap praises on a dieing system. Where on earth have you ever heard of inflation reaching the historic levels your country hard? Little minds wake up before it's too late. You claim to have taken what rightfully belongs to you, what is that? Land? Now that you have taken it and lack the expertise to make it produce, what becomes of your hungry asses. The editor I think had not even eaten before going to work hence he vented his anger on Morgan. Can you write such against Bob? Enjoy the freedom of expression thanks to Morgan.
Can I say rubbish because that is what the Herald is just plain Zanu-pf rubbish...
What sanctions? There are no sanctions on the people of Zimbabwe. None at all. There are restrictions on Maggot and a couple hundred of his boyz that prevent them from shopping in Paris and London, or from sending their stolen money to a bank that won't in turn steal it from their accounts, but there are no sanctions on the nation, or the people of Zimbabwe. If there were, then why can't they be described? Show me a law in any country that restricts trade with Zimbabwe? There are none. Maggot and the Herald can only talk vaguely about these "evil, illegal sanctions," because they cannot point to any actual specific sanctions, because they do not exist. It's just like those mysterious banditry training camps in Botswana that the Herald is always baying about. Where are they? They do not exist. They are a creation of a deluded mind that cannot admit that ZANU-PF f*cked up the whole country, so they try to invent a bogeyman to blame it on. So why does the Herald continue to lie?
People dont bother reading the HErald anymore.... it just churns out the same lies every week, and people are sick of it.
Pathetic.
If sanctions were illegal, why hasnt Zimbabwe done something about it through the international courts? Because thy are 100% legal. There is nothing anywhere to say they are not legal.
Countries have a sovereign right to choose who they trade with, who enters their borders and how they vote in monetary institutions.
There is no arguing to this.
