Gambia: AGIB Gives to Presidential Treatment Programme

Arab Gambia Islamic Bank (AGIB) Gambia Limited, on Wednesday, donated 10 bags of rice and three rams to the Presidential Treatment Programme (PTP), at a presentation ceremony held at the new Serrekunda hospital in Kanifing.

Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Dr. Tamsir Mbowe, director general of the Presidential Treatment Programme, who received the items on behalf of the president, thanked AGIB and expressed sincere gratitude and appreciation for donation. According to Dr. Mbowe, health is not everything but without health everything else is nothing. He added that a nation cannot develop without proper health system in place. Since the inception of the Presidential Treatment Programme, he said, many people have benefited from the presidential treatment.

He further thanked President Jammeh for his intervention in the health sector and assured that the donation will be used for the betterment of the health sector. For his part, Kingsley Okolie, divisional head, Operations and Management Service at Arab Gambia Islamic Bank AGIB, said the donation is their contribution to the advancement of the Presidential Treatment Programme. The presentation was chaired by Abdoulie Suku Singhateh, National Assembly member for Central Badibou.
