Ghana: Cimag Calls On Marketers to Promote Oil Industry

The Chartered Institute of Marketing -Ghana (CIMAG), has called on marketers in the country to reposition themselves as leaders in industry and commerce to promote the new and emerging opportunities that the economy may provide, especially the oil industry. Marketers are, therefore, design to acceptable benchmarks for assessing performance of organizations and other industries.

The National President of CIMAG, Mrs. Josephine Okutu, made this passionate call at the launch of the 2009 CIMAG Annual Marketing Performance Awards in Accra, over the weekend. She observed that "the awards have offered opportunities for corporate Ghana to showcase her generosity in support of professional excellence to make Ghana great and strong".

rs. Okutu added that these generous corporate contributions had not been in vain, but rather they had sustained the awards scheme and succeeded in placing it on glorious pedestal of excellence, commending all who have in one way or the other supported the cause for professional and corporate excellence.

"I would, therefore, like to implore you, our dear and reliable partners, not to relent in your support. I call on you to once again join us to showcase professional excellence through the 2009 awards ceremony", she appealed.

The 2009 awards ceremony is slated for Saturday, July 17, 2010, under the theme -"Africa as an Emerging Market - The Role of Marketing". In all, there are 29 award categories for this year.

Briefing on the sponsorship for the 2009 awards, the Chairperson of the Awards Planning Committee, Mrs. Shola Safo-Duodu mentioned platinum, gold, silver, bronze and supporting sponsors as the five categories of sponsorships.

According to her, "The level of your sponsorship is determined by the amount you invest into the sponsorship shopping list". If your investment is equal to or greater than GH¢25,000.00, your organization is regarded as a platinum sponsor and you will therefore enjoy the following benefits".

These include; media exposure in five television stations, six radio stations and six newspapers, all valued at GH¢15,000.00, logos on event backdrop and four corporate banners to brand venue and exhibition set up at the event venue during the 2009 awards night.
