Nigeria: Bayelsa PDP Crisis - Nass Members Condemn PDP's Role

Yenagoa — Members of the National Assembly from Bayelsa State yesterday described as condemnable and a show of the rot within the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) the face-off between Governor Timipre Sylva and his deputy, Peremobowei Ebebi, over the outcome of the local government primaries, saying"only God can save Bayelsa from evil geniuses".

The sudden departure of the deputy governor to Abuja for consultation with Vice President Goodlcuk Jonathan and other national leaders of the party has brought about appreciable calm as aggrieved supporters of the governor and his deputy have put on hold protest marches in support of the duo to consult and take stock on the next line of action.
