The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) will hold its annual meeting on February 27 and 28 next year to discuss all pressing matters.
Briefing reporters yesterday, TFF secretary general Fredrick Mwakalebela said dates for the meeting were fixed during the recent executive committee meeting. Mwakalebela said they were preparing agendas and about 110 participants are expected to attend the meeting.
"All members will assemble for the meeting in two months to discuss all issues that have rocked our federation and soccer as a whole," Mwakalebela said. He said 84 members from 21 regional bodies and one representative from each premiership club would attend.
According to him, 15 members would come from the Tanzania Women Football Association, Tanzania Football Coaches Association, Football Referees Association of Tanzania, Tanzania Sports Medicine Association and Soccer Players Union of Tanzania.
The official urged all affiliate associations to submit names of their representatives by January 15. "The meeting will cover a wide range of issues, thus we believe it'll help take our football standards to the highest level," he said.
Meanwhile, Michael Momburi reports that Uganda's skipper Andy Mwesigwa has bragged to shove off Zanzibar Heroes in the Orange Senior challenge Cup today. "We've been beating all opponents 2-0 and nothing will change tomorrow (today), they will be crashing out," said the outspoken captain.
As Kilimanjaro Stars play their do-or-die match against Burundi, the level of players discipline in Group C has raised attention of tournament organisers. At the end of the third Group C match between siblings Zanzibar and Tanzania Mainland, three players had seen red, among them two from the Kilimanjaro stars.
Striker Kigi Makasi and defender Juma Nyoso will stay out when their team seeks a berth in the quarterfinal stage. Nyoso was send off during the match against Uganda while Makasi saw red following an off the ball incident in the match against Heroes.
Similarly, Heroes first choice goalkeeper Ali Mwadini will watch Zanzibar's last group match from the terraces after he was expelled for a deliberate foul on Mrisho Ngassa in the match against Kilimanjaro stars.
