Nigeria: ANPP Chairman Nabbed With Indian Hemp

Yola — Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Adamawa State have arrested two suspects including the ANPP Chairman of Numan Local Government Area Alhaji Dan Tsoho Hassan with 99 bags of substances suspected to be Indian hemp weighing 793.5kg.

Parading the suspects in Yola yesterday, the state Commander of the NDLEA Alh. Hassan A.Zungeru said the suspects including a 70 year old woman were arrested in Dan Tsoho's mother's house along Kwata street in Numan town.

He alleged that the suspects, especially Dan Tsoho was a known Indian hemp dealer in Numan, who according to sources had been in the drug business for many years.

Zungeru expressed concern that despite the fact that the suspect was a known Indian hemp dealer in Numan, the community had been tolerating him as a result of which many of their sons and daughters were into drugs.

He warned that the NDLEA would arrest and deal with any drug dealer caught. He said the suspects would soon be charged to court.

But while fielding questions from newsmen, the ANPP chairman said his arrest had political undertone as he was among the chairmen that sacked the state chairman of the party recently.
