Africa: Kevin Wins BBA

Harare — Like a dream come true, Nigerian housemate Kevin was voted the winner of the Big Brother Revolution.

After his 91-day stay in Big Brother Revolution house, Kevin emerged the ultimate winner and said he felt like "Obama".

"I can't speak, I'm speechless I feel like Obama. I just don't know . . . I was born for TV," he said in an interview with the host of the show IK.

The show brought the curtain down on Big Brother Africa IV, aptly dubbed the Revolution, which was pregnant with twists, surprises and emotions.

In a live broadcast of the finale on M-Net across the continent, the show featured guest performances by youthful United States rapper Bow Wow, who wowed the audiences with the hits "That's My Name" and "Fresh Amiz".

But the toast of the night was the 27-year-old from Lagos, who scooped the big prize of US$200 000 plus another US$2 700 from his money pot courtesy of Big Brother.

The countdown to the finale was full of fireworks as viewers were shown snippets of the journey in the Revolution and how each of the housemates thrilled the fans.

But the crunch time was when the remaining five housemates - Mzamo, Emma, Nkenna, Edward and Kevin - were waiting with bated breath to see the ultimate winner.

Nkenna, another Nigerian housemate, was voted fifth and she walked away with US$2 997 from her money pot.

Mzamo was the next to be evicted from the house and, boy oh boy, she's "a free-spirited" person as seen on the small screen.

She also took home US$1 383 from her money pot courtesy of Big Brother.

Namibia's Edward, who was placed third, said he had no regrets over his actions in the house, including stripping naked.

"I've no regrets because it was not about the money, but having fun," he said.

The gorgeous Emma, who had a fling in the house with Jeremy from Kenya, said she missed him and Elizabeth, her friend, so much. She also said her toughest part in the house was the last day when she cried.

In addition, the finale recapped the highlights from the series, including the Big Brother Africa twin swap and the celebrity guest appearance by Keri Hilson.

Also featured was the memorable Michael Jackson tribute show in which the housemate performed the hit "Thriller".

With Big Brother Revolution finished, DStv fans of this sort of show can tune in every Saturday for the M-Net Face Of Africa model search episodes as well as the finale slated for February next year in Nigeria.
