Nigeria: EFCC Seeks Warrant of Arrest On El-Rufai

Abuja — A Federal High Court in Abuja will on February 9, 2010 determine whether to issue a bench warrant against former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai.

In a swift reaction to the move to secure a warrant of arrest on the former minister, his counsel, in a statement said: "An arrest warrant issued by the Nigerian police against the popular reformer, Nasir El-Rufai has been denounced by his lawyer as groundless and "part of a campaign of intimidation."
