Nigeria: N5 Billion - EFCC Arrests Ex-Gov

Abuja — Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) yesterday arrested former Sokoto State governor, Alhaji Attahiru Bafarawa, over alleged contract scam amounting to N5 billion.

A source in the anti-graft agency, who spoke to Daily Champion on the condition of anonymity, said the former Presidential candidate of the Democratic Peoples Party (DPP) was picked up at Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Abuja by operatives of the EFCC who had for weeks monitored his movements.
