Uganda: Mulago Kings Crowned Chess Champions

Kampala — MULAGO Kings Chess Club have won this year's national league with a record breaking eight point margin, reports Phillip Corry.

Mulago were declared winners after a 3.5-1.5 win over Kireka that propelled them to 57 points.

Debutants Uganda Christian University were the surprise package finishing second with 39 points, although fourth placed Kireka at 36, still have a game in hand against Mulago Rooks.

In the other final round games, UCU beat Mulago Rooks 4-1 while Makerere University beat Aviation 4-1.

David Isabirye adds that the Entebbe tournament is due today at Entebbe Club 17, Kitooro. The one day-event is sponsored by the Entebbe-based US Navy Team.
