Nigeria: Catholic Archdiocese Commissions Printing Press

The Catholic Archdiocese of Abuja yesterday commissioned a printing press for the Good Shepherd newspaper of the church, after the formal inauguration of Catholic Association of Media Professionals (CAMP).

While inaugurating the association, Archbishop of Abuja, Dr John Onaiykan, urged CAMP members to be professional in their duties.

Represented by the Vicar- General of the Diocese, Rev. Fr. Innocent Joji, the Archbishop described the commissioned printing press as a milestone achievement for the church.

He explained that the Good Shepherd newspaper will be used to preach the word of God as well as preach against immorality and other societal ills.

"The purpose of the printing press is evangelically based and we do not intend to commercialize it," he said.

Also speaking, the Diocesan Chairman on Communications, Mr. Tom Adaba, enjoined members of the church to pray for the facilities to be used for God's glory.
