Nigeria: Yuguda Has No Political Direction - ANPP

Bauchi — Governor Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State has been described as lacking political direction in steering the affairs of the state.

Making this assertion in his office during an interview with our correspondent, the chairman of All Nigeria Peoples Party, Bauchi State, Alhaji Sani Shehu, accused the governor of planting a seed of disunity in the ANPP in the state, thinking that he will have a solid ground to defect from the ANPP to the PDP if there is a faction within the system.

He added that unfortunately for Yuguda, he didn't know that it is only when there is a solid evidence of disunity in the party from the national level that his defection will be constitutional and legal.

The chairman reiterated that one of the achievements recorded by the ANPP was to enlighten the people of the state through various campaigns before the 2007 elections where his party promised the people of the state change.

Shehu lamented that unfortunately for them Yuguda got the people's mandate and defected to the PDP.

He stated that Yuguda has no chance of scaling through the 2011 elections in the state, stressing that he saw the sign during the postponed Gamawa House of Assembly by-election where Yuguda had the full knowledge that his candidate will not win due to his unpopularity in the state.

According to him, the governor should have allowed the people of Gamawa constituency to elect their choice but instead, he connived with the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Sulaiman Darazau, and postponed the election which the PDP have no chance of winning.
