Dar Es Salaam — MOSHI Khalsa launches their campaigns in the Africa Cup Hockey Tournament in Nairobi, Kenya today against Egyptians AM Sharkia.

The eight-day tournament will take place at the City Park Stadium in Nairobi. Secretary General of Tanzania Hockey Association (THA) Kaushik Doshi said today that the country representatives are already in Nairobi.

"Our team is in great shape and expectations are high. They are ready for the championships. They will face defending champions tomorrow (today)," he said.

Doshi said this is the first time Moshi Khalsa will be taking part in the championship. Moshi Khalsa is the country's champions and the Moshi based team has also won various local tournaments.

Other men's category matches lined up for today will pit PM Yobe Desert Rollers of Nigeria and Kenya's Green Sharks.

In women category AM Bayelsa of Nigeria and Green Shark Sliders of Kenya, while Kenya's PM Telkom Orange will have a date with Wananchi Whetherhead of Uganda.

The tournament will continue tomorrow with the match between AM Sharkia and Green Sharks, as PM Eastern will entertain Kisumu Simba. In women category AM Imp Hertland Flickers of Nigeria will take on Whetherhead, as PM Telkom Orange confront Sliders.
