When Amakula International Film Festival was launched five years ago, local film makers in Uganda received it gladly. The festival as its name suggests was a precious gift to the industry - so local film makers waited patiently to see what was in store for them.
It has been a few weeks since the sixth Amakula Film Festival ended at the National Theatre. While the past festivals have been really vibrant, this year's almost went unnoticed as very few people attended, perhaps because for the first time, one had to pay an entrance fee.
