WEMBLEY cruiserweight Ola 'Kryptonite' Afolabi slammed the judges after he missed out on world title glory in Stuttgart last Saturday.

The charismatic 29-year-old felt he had done more than enough to take the WBO title off Germany's Marco Huck and was stunned when all three ringside officials disagreed.

The trio scored the contest in favour of Huck by 115-113, 115-113 and 116-112 and a frustrated Afolabi insisted: "If this was held either back home or in the US I would have definitely won the fight.

"What can I say? We knew this was going to happen in Germany - all he was doing was trying to bully me in. He's a dirty fighter but the crowd went nuts and the judges gave it to him."

Afolabi, who earned a shot at the title by comprehensively beating former WBO champion Enzo Maccarinelli back in March, used his jab well and caught Huck with shots to the head and body.

And the Londoner was denied a possible finish midway through round five when he rocked Huck with a vicious uppercut, but referee Joe Cortez halted proceedings after noticing loose tape hanging from both fighters' gloves.

"I had him hurt so I don't know why the ref stopped it for a second," added Afolabi. "If you have somebody hurt then you continue the action before you deal with tapes.

"In a way I didn't do my job, which was to knock him out, so he deserves the win I guess. But I would love a rematch - and if it is held in Germany then I have to make sure I put him out."

Despite Afolabi's second loss in 19 professional outings, promoter Dino Duva is confident his man can bounce back and go on to become a world champion.

"In my opinion Ola proved that he is one of the best cruiserweights in the world," said Duva. "But he lost.

"Now he has to forget about it and have a little rest, then get back in the gym. Hopefully we can get him another world title shot as soon as possible.
