Gambia: Galga Welcomes Colley's New Appointment

Banjul — Members of the Gambia Association of Local Government Authorities (GALGA) have expressed their gratitude to The Gambian leader, His Excellency Sheikh Professor Alhaji Dr Yahya Jammeh for appointing Mayor Yankuba Colley of Kanifing Municipal Council, who is also their vice president, as the new national mobiliser of the ruling APRC party.

In an interview with the Daily Observer last Saturday at the Kanifing Municipal Council, Mustapha Njie, executive secretary of the association, thanked President Jammeh on behalf of their members for the appointment, noting that they are very pleased with this development. He spoke well of Colley, that he deserves this development. We know Yankuba since in the transition. We have been working together since the beginning. So he knows the in and out of the party and I am sure he will make good use of his appointment, he remarked.

Abdoulie Sanyang, the chief executive officer of the Kanifing Municipal Council, joined the GALGA's executive secretary in thanking President Jammeh for entrusting MayorYankuba Colley with the position. I know for sure that Yankuba will be able to do it, he assured.

CEO Sanyang described the APRC party as one that is here for all Gambians, and implored on those who are not on board to join the bandwagon.

He noted that the development of this country rests solely on Gambian shoulders, that it will not be developed by any other people but Gambians themselves. He called on all to join President Jammeh in developing The Gambia.
