Kampala — UGANDA moved closer to the medal bracket in the inaugural All Africa Schools' Badminton Championships by beating power house South Africa.
Uganda's girls and boys had earlier downed hosts Mauritius in the first tie, the boys winning all their three singles and the two doubles.
However, there was some bit of tension for the girls who lost one single and a doubles game before they won 3-2. A semi-final placing would see Uganda assured of at least a bronze medal.
Boys

Mauritius 1 Uganda 4
Girls
Uganda 3 S. Africa 2
