Nigeria: Ijesaland Agog for Iwude Festival 2009

The second edition of Iwude Ijesa festival, a 30 day-long ceremony across the six local government areas of Ijesaland formally commenced Saturday, December 12 with church services in Ijesaland. The grand finale will be the traditional Iwude outing led by HRM Oba Gabriel A. Aromolaran II at Obokungbusi town hall in Ijesa.

Iwude festival which ends Saturday, December 19, is known to be the oldest festival in Ijesaland. It is geared towards convergence of culture, tradition and communion of pomp.
