The popular 30-day Christmas Carnival in the Ancient City of Calabar in Cross River state will be redefined as entertainment group, Storm 360, working with BounceBack Media and the Cross River State Government, has concluded plans to showcase star artistes starting this weekend.
This year's Calabar Christmas Carnival will feature among others notable African-American R&B star, Keri Hilson who is performing at the Stadium in Calabar on December 21, to rock the city. The massive talent will be delivering all of her hits for the first time in Nigeria.
"Try and come out to Calabar this Christmas but especially on December 21," said Obi Asika, boss of Storm 360, the company at the front seat of happenings in the entertainment industry in the country for more than a decade.
"Keri is beautiful, talented and an impressive performer and this will be a special performance. She will be bringing the roof down," said Asika.
Born, Keri Lynn Hilson, on December 5, 1982, the artiste is an American recording artist signed to Zone 4, Mosley Music Group and Interscope Records. She is also part of a collective of writers and producers known as The Clutch.
Through the early and late 2000s, Hilson wrote songs for multiple rappers and singers, including Britney Spears and Ludacris. In 2007, she guest performed on Timbaland's hits "The Way I Are" and "Scream" and began a solo singing career. Hilson has made cameos in music videos for Usher, NeYo and Nelly, amongst others. Her debut album, In a Perfect World..., was released in early 2009, spawning hit singles "Energy", "Turnin' Me On" and "Knock You Down".
Storm 360 also announced that the Haitian-Nigerian Wyclef Jean will be The Major Headliner on December 28 at The Stadium in Calabar. He is one of the top five live performers in the world and will be bringing his full live site to a sold out crowd of 50,000 in beautiful the state's capital.
It would be recalled that Storm 360 has consistently partnered with the Cross River State Government on the Calabar Christmas Festival, last year managing the production incidents and bookings, as well as producing the hit series Calabar Rocks.
The company, which this week released the debut album of the supremely talented GT, the Guitarman, recently wrapped up the successful Naija Sings show produced and managed for M-Net and delivered the 9jillions show for Etisalat working with Naijasounds Limited.
"We've released the long-awaited classic album from GT, and the album release party is on December 24" Asika confirmed. "And also prepping for first quarter releases for Sasha and Naeto C, to be followed by Sauce Kid and General Pype and Tosin Martins, flooding the streets with music and content in 2010."
