Keetmanshoop — KD, Blend and Lil C represent baseline entertainment, strictly focusing on Rap and Hip-Hop. The group of scholars which was founded in January, frantically aims to take Namibian Hip-Hop to another level.
The group goes by the name KCGZ and their real names are Godfried Imberemba aka Blend, Gurgen Ihoubab aka Lil C and Edwin de Klerk aka KD.
Their well known song "Swagga dance" attracted a lot of attention and inspired them to go big and bold. The three scholars who do their thing after school, during weekends and holidays says they don't just do music because they can and are good in it, they do music because they have an obsession to help others and are adamant to make it big in the music industry to do just that, helping others.
The 15 and 16 year old students who are currently in Grades 8 and 10 say they aim to be counted amongst one of the top musicians in Namibia, because they are already pursuing music as a career.
According to the group, they are a power to be considered because they are young, vigorous, energetic, elegant, ambitious and mature for their age. They know how to manage the pressure of peers and they have their future in music planned ahead of them as they are a group of sophisticated upcoming musicians.
They don't see themselves as scholars engaging in music as a pass time, no, they see themselves as young musicians rehearsing to emerge big and bold.
The trio that goes by the adage "let your infatuation for music designate you" says that they impatiently waiting for one of the big recod labels to take the opportunity and grab them before its too late, because their talent are not to be buried, their talent are rising and they see themselves as a gold pit, a cash pot, ready to be explored in order to provide entertainment and flair to many fans and potential devotees.
Linda Jahs, who is currently managing the group says she see the group as one of the most successful artists in Namibia, however, they must just remember that they need to finish their education in order to ensure a steadfast career and life.
