Johannesburg — GENERAL Motors SA (GMSA) maintained yesterday that it would continue providing after- sales support to owners of Saab, whose future as a stand-alone premium brand remains uncertain.
Despite this uncertainty, GMSA has said that all warranties and maintenance and service plans were unaffected .
Gishma Abrahams, corporate communication officer at GMSA, said yesterday dealers that sold Saabs in their showrooms also carried GM's other premium brands - Cadillac and Hummer.
Abrahams also said GMSA no longer imported Saab.
"While we are no longer importing Saab products to market, we will continue to provide full after-sales support to our Saab customers and will also continue to honour all warranty agreements," she said.
Spyker Cars, a sports car maker that withdrew from talks with GM over the acquisition of Saab, on Sunday renewed its offer for the brand. This after GM announced on Friday that it intended to wind down operations, signalling that the Saab brand was vanishing for good.

Thank you for the piece on future of Saab cars in RSA. I have a 2001 Saab 95 car. The shock absorbers are gone/finished and need to be replaced. Can you help me to source these. Thanks
